Kowhai Cottage is located in a quiet side street near the centre of Motueka, the little tourist town which serves the famous Abel Tasman National Park with its stunningly beautiful beaches. A 20 minute drive brings you to Kaiteriteri Beach or Marahau, both starting points for water taxi trips, kayaking, swimming with seals and walking adventures in the Park. Or you can choose to relax with a picnic and a book on one of the many lovely little beaches nearby.

Within easy driving distance are Kahurangi National Park , N.Z's largest alpine park (1 hour), enchanting Golden Bay (1 hour), Nelson City (45 minutes) and Nelson Lakes National Park (2 hours).

Other nearby activities are Trout Fishing in the Motueka River, Golf at a choice of golf courses, Sky Diving, Horse Trekking, Sailing, Winery tours, Art and Craft trails, plus much, much more.

Motueka itself has some delightful walking and cycle tracks through bush and newly planted native areas around the water front. Bicycles can be hired in the town.

The Motueka i-Site, where you can organize and book your activities when you are here, is a short walk down town.
